It was way back in 2004 when I thought to myself, Why don't any theatres play cool older movies? So, with the support and approval of Regency Theatres, Insomniac Cinema! was born and in July of that year Saturday midnight shows started at the Westlake Village Twin in Westlake Village.

I somewhat joke that the original intention was to see cool older movies, meet girls and make some extra money and only the movies part worked out but one thing is for sure, I've met some amazing people hosting these shows and for that I'm grateful.

The first five films were from the amazing Stanley Kubrick, to be more specific Dr. Strangelove kicked off what would become a mulit-venue, weekly film fest that has lasted seven years. We've had to say goodbye to some venues including Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Westwood Village, Westlake Village and Agoura Hils but IC! is still going strong in Ventura and Pasadena! So when you need your weekly dose of film therapy hit up a show, there's always something good playing.
